THIS WEEKEND: THE EUROPEAN NEWSPAPER ADWARDS

This weekend in Dusseldorf, Germany, an international jury will decide this year's European Newspaper Awards.

The most important newspaper competition in Europe is organized by the newspaper designer Norbert Küpper (Germany) in co-operation with the journalists' magazines Medium Magazin (Frankfurt), Der Österreichische Journalist (Salzburg) and Schweizer Journalist (Zürich).

Last year, THE GUARDIAN was awarded as the Europe's Best Designed Newspaper in the category 'national newspaper' and DIE ZEIT as the Europe's Best Designed Newspaper in the category 'weekly newspaper'
